Northern guides conduct business in British Columbia between the eastern slopes of the Rocky Mountains, south of Dawson Creek, north to the Yukon border and over the divide into "the Rocky Mountain Trench". This is Arctic drainage, and the river systems of the Peace, Halfway, Sikanni, Prophet, Muskwa, Toad, Rabbit, Liard, Kechika, the Turnagain and the Gataga have long been favoured destinations for wilderness adventurers. Within this vast area, sportsmen are able to pursue the majestic stone sheep in the mountainous terrain north of the Peace River; while Rocky Mountain bighorns are well established among the mountains of the Alberta/BC border. Moose, mule deer, wolf, grizzly and black bear are harvested throughout most of the areas.
Elk herds have expanded along the east slope from south of the Yukon border to the Murray and Wapiti rivers in the south. Mountain caribou and goat can be found throughout the mountainous area, while numerous whitetail deer inhabit the foothills. Choose your species, or combination thereof, and there will be a northern outfitter who can provide you with the "trip of a lifetime".
Northern guides also provide wilderness angling excursions, photo safaris, horseback expeditions, family/group wilderness vacations, and rafting trips for the enthusiast. Angling opportunities also abound; whether it is rainbow trout on the Peace River drainage, Arctic grayling on the Liard, or the ubiquitous Dolly Varden.
British Columbia's Guide outfitters cooperate with the BC Fish and Wildlife Branch in a variety of wildlife and habitat enhancement projects. Through "trip donation programs", we help to provide the financial support, and often participate in the programs ourselves.
