Sample Waiver Documents

For those who need some help in constructing a waiver form for use during their hunting operations, we have posted a sample waiver form which is currently used in the industry.  We have included links to 2 versions of the form.  The pdf is downloadable and printable and can serve as a guideline for you to make your own.  A Microsoft Word version is available as well.

Register for the Annual Convention

2010 Auction Donation ProfileGOABC's 45th Annual Convention and 18th Annual Auction  Fundraiser will be taking place April 1 and 2 in Victoria, British Columbia. Wilderness Guiding Program

Wilderness Guiding ProgramNorthwest Community College "Wilderness Guiding and Wrangling Program" is a hands-on intensive course of study which has been designed and developed by the Guide Outfitters Association of British Columbia. The goal is to prepare individuals for employment in the guide-outfitting industry. In recent years the employment rate of graduates has been virtually 100%. The program takes place entirely at Wagontrail Ranch near Smithers over a 30-day period. Students stay in bunkhouses and food is provided in the cookhouse. Horseback riding is an essential component of the program.

Program Dates:
May 3 - June 1, 2010

Tuition Costs: $3,500 per student  (includes food and lodging)

Who should take the program? People who...

  • have a strong belief in wildlife conservation
  • enjoy working in a team environment 
  • like hunting and fishing 
  • want to work in the industry 
  • like horses and feel confident with animals (previous riding experience is an asset but not essential) 
  • enjoy back country camping and nature 
  • take pleasure in meeting and talking to new people from different countries 
  • feel comfortable working in a camp setting for extended periods of time 
  • enjoy cooking 
  • feel mechanically inclined 
  • keep physically fit and are... self-motivated, safety conscious and able to work in a drug and alcohol free environment

*Some students may be eligible for funding through the Employment Skills Access (ESA) program. As part of the funding criteria, these students would be required to participate in a pre-course component between March 23
and May 1.
